The 6th Annual Tour de Lancaster Junior Challenge
For Competitors 16 years and under.

To Benefit the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank

Tentative Schedule; July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, August 7 , 2010

The Tour de Lancaster event is a unique local event that invites young cyclists exploring the competitive cycling scene to challenge themselves in this smaller version of the world famous Tour de France! The event includes 5 "Stage Races" and one "Prologue Race" that are scheduled weekly during the same month as the Tour de France in July. Competitors can compete in one stage or all 6 stages.This year's event's registration will be based on Food Donations and will have a "Team Concept" as well.

Congratulations Abigail Grube, 2009 Tour de Lancaster Champion and Runner-up Stephen Mazeski. Abigail averaged 14.6 MPH over 6 stages. of this year's 140-mile Tour.

The First Annual Tour de Lancaster Adult Challenge

To Benefit the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank
Tentative Date; July 2, 3, 4, 2010

This will be the Adult Version of the Tour de Lancaster Junior Challenge event in which up to 100 of Central Pennsylvania's Top "Community Bicyclists" will be invited to compete in a "self-contained" Stage Race and raise food donations for the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. This uniquely formatted competitive event's registration will be based on Food Donations and will have a "Team Concept" as well. The event will consist of 3 "Stages" beginning on Friday July 2 and will use the now famous Nightmare Tour as it's primary route with competitors accessing the route from Penn Square, the center of the City of Lancaster each day.

The 5th Annual Longest Day Cycling Challenge

The 12 Hour Challenge
How many miles can you ride in 12 hours? This event uses the 20 mile Lancaster County Heritage Bike Route Loop & Spur Loop as well as a 3.7 mile loop through the quaint and historic river town of Marietta.

A Fundraising Event for the League of Lancaster Bicyclists & other Lancaster Charities

Our bicycle tours will take you through the rolling countryside of Western and Northwestern Lancaster County with continuous views of preserved farmland, some covered bridges and the less traveled country roads.

Rides start at 6:00AM-6:30AM and usually finish around 6:00PM. Day-of Registration begins at 5:15 AM.

The Dream Ride Committee has always invited local charities with 501c3 status to recruit cyclists and raise financial pledges to support these charities and their important work. Since 1995 cyclists and our participating charities have raised nearly $1 Million! ALL monies you raise go directly to your selected charity. Contact your charity now and get the wheels turning! The ultimate success of this event depends on an extraordinary volunteer effort. Volunteers are needed to help in the following areas: Day-of registration, parking attendants, support vehicle drivers. Please e-mail the Director if you are interested.

We hold monthly planning meetings for the Dream Ride Lancaster Event scheduled for July 24, 2010. All Charities participating in this event are strongly encouraged to attend to receive the most updated event information. Meetings begin at 4:00 PM at the 630 Janet Avenue Community Complex with the following schedule leading up to the event: April 1, May 6, June 3, July 1, August 19, September 21. Meetings last approximately 90 minutes. E-mail the Director for complete directions and agendas for each meeting.


The 16th Annual Nightmare Tour

The Nightmare Tour is a challenging 177- mile ride that primarily circles Lancaster County and includes an additional 23+ mile loop to offer cyclists a Double Century Ride that is sanctioned by the Ultra Marathon Cycling Association as a part of the Ultracycling Cup.

Fall Heritage Bike Ride

Three Ride Distances: 45.9 MILES, 26.8 MILES, 24.4 MILES

We will be introducing a new ride for 2010 that will use Lancaster County's Biking the Backroads BicycleTour. This ride will promote a new initiative to develop additional permanently-signed Heritage Bicycle Routes and introduce Lancaster bicyclists to the newly forming League of Lancaster Bicyclists.
